My friend, who had watched KGF on its 2nd day, told me that infront of KGF, Bahubali is nothing. It was no big thing for me to guess that he was telling me in a sarcastic way. But when he kept on ranting me the same thing, I was irritated and asked him to stop this. He replied "OK! watch it yourself and then tell me"
Yesterday, 3 months later, I watched the movie on amazon prime. After completing the movie, the first thing I did was, to call him and and tell him how lucky was he, that he saw such thing in theatre.
There are some films, which give you a lifetime experience, and KGF is one such film for me.
The story begins with the Prime Minister of India, announcing the arrest of the biggest criminal of the country. Then the story moves to 1951 in the Kolar district of Karnataka, where the gold mines ( Kolar Gold Fields ) are found by Suryavardhan and the same day, a child named, Raja Krishna Bairappa is born. Destiny had some different plans for both Bairappa and KGF. Years later, KGF's Bairappa is by now Bombay's renowned gangster.....no wait a minute....renowned MONSTER, Rocky Bhai (Yash). While KGF is used as a concentration camp by Suryawardhan's son Garuda (Ramchandra Raju). What forms the connection of Rocky and Garuda,s face off at the bloody gold mines is the rest of the story.
The screenplay by Prashanth Neel is of a different level. Such a screenplay is like never seen before in the Indian cinema. Also the BGM by Ravi Basrur is bound to give you goosebumps. Prashanth Neel's direction will be remembered for ages from now.
A future superstar is already visible in Yash. He has put his heart, sweat in the role of Rocky Bhai. His swag and charm is out of the world. After the chapter 2 comes, a Prabhas-like fame is ready for him. Ramchandra Raju is terrific as Garuda. He looks menacing to the core. Archana Jois as Shanthamma (Rocky's Mother) puts a commendable performance. B.S Avinash as Andrews is excellent in his act. Sridhi Shetty puts zero impact.
If you haven't watched KGF till now, watch it till the chapter 2 comes out.
