SUPER 30 REVIEW

Updated: Jul 23, 2019

HOW GOOD CAN A MOVIE BE ?

IF YOU DON'T GET GOOSEBUMPS IN THIS SCENE, THEN BELIEVE ME, YOU SHOULD CONSULT A SKIN SPECIALIST

PROS

With this movie scoring full marks in each and every department, I don't need to say anything about the pros. And yes everyone performs very well, but Hrithik Roshan crosses each and every boundary of a star to show what an actor he is.

CONS

The biggest con is, that such movies with such a cast rarely gets made, and the result is so so good. Last I remember Padman gave me this feel, and now this. If every superstar gets out of his comfort zone, then you don't know how many inspirational movies like this we will get.

Anand Kumar (Hrithik Roshan) is one of the top students of Bihar. After getting offer from Cambridge, he is restrained to go there by a local politician (Pankaj Tripathi). After going through many hardships, he is finally admitted Exellence Coaching Centre by Lallan (Aditya Srivastava), where he enjoys a wealthy lifestyle and getting a superb salary. However destiny had other plans for Anand, and from there he faces every obstacle to get his Super 30.

Hrithik Roshan took a lot of time to prepare for this role and I bet you he has used each and every second of it to the fullest. He gives his lifetime best performance. And you will never get the feeling that you are watchng the same guy who had acted in Bang Bang or ZNMD. From happiness, to despair,, he expresses each and every single emotion with utter conviction. Best thing is the way he is changing his zones (like just 2 months after this one, WAR is coming). Overall, for me, this is one of the best performance of this year.

Pankaj Tripathi is very much irritating and disgusting as the politician. And there you know that an actor of his stature can do this with ease. Although his performance is asusually fantastic, if he would have been given a little more screen time, then this movie would have been on other level. His final confrontation scene with Aditya Srivastava is one of the best part of this movie.

And talking about Aditya Srivastava a.k.a our very own CID Officer Abhijeet, he is in another form. You have only seen him cathing criminals till now, but this time, he himself is the criminal, why? Because CID has ended? (lol) NO! Because this shining talent was never given such an opportunity. Aditya hits every chord right and makes sure you hate him. A splendid performance.

Virendra Saxena has a very good role and his act was good as always.

Nandish Singh, another TV face you see here will make sure that you will not feel that it's his debut. He emotes excellently as Anand's supportive brother Pranav.

Mrunal Thakur has a short role, but she is par commendable in her role. Usually in such stories, love angles play as a distraction, but here it plays a major role.

Manav Gohil and Vijay Verma are very good in their cameos.

Each and every kid of the Super 30 batch is a bright actor in future. Mark my words!

Keeping aside the metoo wave, Vikas Bahl excels as the director. This one is even better than Queen ( it's better to ignore Shaandaar here). His direction is crystal clear and very simple.

Ajay-Atul messed up with their last 2 albums of Zero and Thugs. But here if we talk about the music, then Jugraafiyaa with Udit Narayan and Shreya Ghoshal's voices, will stay with you even after the film get over. Paisa is catchy and goes well with the flow of the movie. However the best song used is Basanti No Dance. That part is the best part of the whole movie. Niyam Ho is very well used in the end, but it's lyrics such as "Jag uske sang ho jo zyaada Ank laa sake" seems to be a little misguiding. Overall Ajay-Atul score a solid background.

I would recommend you to watch this movie before you die, not for JEE or IIT, not for Hrithik Roshan, but for a man who showed us that self happiness will not make you much happy, ANAND KUMAR.
