THAPPAD REVIEW

After watching this, I thought what could be the reason for someone to make a movie on some a bizarre concept.

Before going into details, let me tell you domestic violence is a criminal offense and it's unacceptable by any gender in any form (mental or physical).

This is the story of Amrita (Tapsee Pannu), who is married to a loving husband Vikram (Pavail Gulati). One day, Vikram gets a very big increment in his office and throws a party. In the middle of the party, he gets to know that he has been cheated, and his wife tries to intervene in the matter, to which Vikram resists at first, but later getting irritated, he slaps her. And then begins a bogus saga of women empowerment!

First things first! Talking about technical aspects, it's an average affair. The story is highly predictable, the film proceeds very slowly, making it boring most of the times. And the music is also not something worth remembering.

Talking about the performances, Tapsee Pannu does the same act, she has been doing since Pink. She's extremely repetitive in bet part and nearly has the same expression throughout the film.

Pavail Gulati is the best performer of this movie. His character has so many shades, and he conveys them with an ease.

Veterans like Ratna Pathak Shah, Tanvi Azmi, Ram Kapoor, Kumud Mishra are simply wasted.

Dia Mirza has just 3 things to do in the film-

1) Hi

2) Bye

3) making coffee

Honestly! Even if her character wouldn't even have existed, it wouldn't have been of much difference.

Now let's discuss what's this movie about. Basically, this movie is against domestic violence. But at the same time, it shows a 13 year old girl relaxing with her boyfriend in her house, and her mother feels proud of it! Seriously? You are encouraging children to indulge in all these bulls*it? Ok! Let's come to the main point. The lead couple is nothing but a pair of a**holes. The husband, after slapping the wife, doesn't even bother to apologize from his wife even once (untill she leaves the house). And even the wife reacts like as if her whole world is shattered (not mocking anyone's dignity, but this really seems very much unnatural). Not even asking your husband once, the reason for which he crossed the limits, shows how artificially the character would have been designed. However, later, even after she gets pregnant, still she prefers to keep the father away from her child, rather than sorting out things.

According to the director, it's only men, who have ego, but women have 'dignity'. And if the director was so hell bent on promoting feminism, why the hell did he produced it from T Series, the company, who gave a movie like Kabir Singh, which promotes 'toxic male dominance' according to our director's category people?

The sole purpose of these kind of movies is nothing but to give some footage to the actress, and get heavy critical acclaim from so called critics, and when the movie flops, blame the audience that they don't support (so called) MASTERPIECE CINEMA!!!!!

Honestly, it was a headache!
