TOP 5 WORST & BEST INDIAN FILMS I HAVE WATCHED IN 2022

WORST

5. SAMRAT PRITHVIRAJ

One of the most anticipated films which was expected to show the valor of Prithviraj Chauhan with utmost intensity and greatness. You have a star and actor like Akshay Kumar, a supporting cast of Sanjay Dutt, Sonu Sood, Ashutosh Rana and a production house like Yash Raj Films, but still then if you make a mockery of such a legendary figure, then you are just hopeless. From costumes, to acting nothing was good in this movie and the unnecessarily added feminism acts as a rotten cherry on top of an already sour cake.

4. HEROPANTI 2

A sequel no one asked for. In fact, everybody thought what was the point of making this. The prequel which already was already an average affair did not needed a sequel. Ahmed Khan thought after making a masterpiece (sarcasm) like Baaghi 3, he needs to destroy another franchise and then he came with a script where Tiger Shroff plays a hacker cum an undercover agent cum a fighter cum an underworld goon cum destroying his upcoming career opportunities, Nawazuddin Siddiqui playing chhapri Joker and Tara Sutaria playing the worst possible role ever written for an actress in a bollywood film.

3. GEHRAIYAAN

When you don't have a script and you take 3 topics, depression, PTSD and infidelity, to make a movie by making the mixture of the 3 and put them in a cycle. The basic storyline of the movie is "I am in depression because of my PTSD, I am doing infidelity because of my depression, I am suffering from PTSD because of someone else's infidelity....." and the cycle goes on and on. Gehraiyaan is a sorry excuse for drama movie. Filled with extremely generic performances where expressions mean facepalms and dialogues mean F Bombs.

2. SHAMSHERA

Since I have already discussed about it in details in my blog, I don't want to again remind of the terrible experience I had while watching this propaganda movie in name of a mass commercial revenge drama. Just would like to say that it was one of the best visually crafted movie with one of the worst ever script.

1. LIGER

Sometimes I wonder what enmity do these producers and directors have with the public? If not why are we subjected to such torture? The hero of this movie was so much confident about this movie that he openly told that it will collect more than 200 crores at the box office. Guess what, DISASTER IN EACH AND EVERY LANGUAGE! The problem is not doing such garbage, but it's having the confidence to say that such things will collect 200 crores is nothing disregarding the standards of your own audience. And what they did with Mike Tyson was something unforgivable to say the least.

0. RADHESHYAM

This is a very special kind of film which deserved a place in the list even if at the 0 position also, because I didn't knew a movie can be so bad that I would be unable to bear it more than 20 minutes.

BEST

5. AN ACTION HERO

I will be honest. An Action Hero is one of the best cinematic experiences I ever had in a cinema hall. This movie had everything, from raw and bloody action to genuinely funny humor, to towering talents involved and a comic cameo of Akshay Kumar (how could it ever go wrong?). Both Ayushmann Khurrana and Jaideep Ahlawat have given excellent performances and Anirudh Iyer smashes in his debut as a director. From scenic locales of London to desi deadpool vibes, this movie was a treat for an action lover. It's just sad that the audience didn't even gave it a chance.

4. KGF CHAPTER 2

I agree this was not a perfect movie, but this was a mass madness at the theatres. With the kind of elevation scenes it had, the powerful performances, the emotional climax and the goosebumps generating songs, it's enough for anyone not to find any faults in this one. Their are some aspects which look problematic, but that's the power of good cinema. You are so much invested in the characters and even want a gangster to succeed in his mission that you forget everything else.

3. ROCKETRY

Indian cinema desperately needs such biopics in which the protagonist is a human being first of all, not some god who does everything right. R Madhavan both as an actor and a director manages to show you the pains and sufferings of Dr. Nambi Narayan and the punishment he got from his own country for being a mad patriot. But in showing all this, he didn't ignored the shortcomings of that man, as a human being and some of his mistakes also. The penultimate sequence is just heart tugging to say the least. Must Watch

2. RRR

RRR is the best utilization of the medium known as cinema. From characters who are vulnerable at emotional levels but superior at physical levels, a story of a strong friendship in the background of the Independence struggle for India, and all this culminated with the evergreen music of MM Kreem, RRR ticks all the boxes for being what Indian cinema is known for. I don't need to say much, the Oscar nominations speak volumes for the kind of impact this SS Rajamouli directorial had.

Honorable Mentions - Dasvi, Ramsetu, Khuda Haafiz 2, Monica O My Darling, Freddy

1. VIKRAM

Vikram has to be everything I expect from cinema. When Tarantino and Russo brothers had a baby it must be Lokesh Kannagaraj, because to insert mass elements with utmost perfection in a gangster drama, is not a small thing. This movie has everything, from a vintage Kamal Hassan, to an ever dependable Fahadh Faasil, to an as usually excellent Vijay Sethupathi, to a beast like Suriya who created havoc in just his 5 minutes role. It was not a movie but an experience, which I would love to experience again and again and again!
