10. Ajay Devgn
Ajay Devgn, an ace performer when it comes to intense roles, once again aced the role of Income Tax Officer Amay Pattnaik in Raid. Ajay's subtle yet strong performance as the honest Officer won our hearts (especially in the climax).
9. Varun Dhawan
Believe me! this is the same man, who had entertained us (err...to some extent) with his over the top performance as twins in Judwaa 2. And with October, he proves us that versatility is like, changing clothes to him. In a movie filled with many unknown faces, Varun Dhawan is not even recognisable due to his simple and subtle body language. Varun Dhawan, as Dan, maintains a proper balance between acting and "not acting" (such roles require this technique sometimes) and there's where he takes the cake.
8. Rajkumar Rao
The most underrated actor of the young lot, finally got his deserved recognition this year with Stree. Rajkumar broght the house down with laughter with his character of Vicky. Although his performance is overshadowed by Pankaj Tripathi's monstrous performance, Rajkumar makes Stree a memorable watch for everyone.
7. Vineet Kumar Singh
Anurag Kashyap's Mukkabaaz was a treat for desi cinema lovers and the type of dedication Vineet Kumar Singh has shown in his role, is clapworthy. From bodybuilding to acting to dialouges to fighting to story (yes, he is the writer also), he has excelled in every field. He even makes you feel for his character at many points in the film. A really endearing performance from a hidden gem.
6. Amitabh Bachchan
OK! I know that this man is not comparable with anyone in any field. But still, giving such energetic performances at the age of 75 (don't you dare to confuse it with TOH), is not an easy thing. Not saying much, but if you have ever liked BigB, then after watching 102 Not Out, you are bound to like him even more.
5. Saif Ali Khan
This, in my opinion, the most underrated performance of the year 2018. After wasting himself in so many duds, Saif Ali Khan, reminded us that he was the man, who has made Langda Tyagi, one of the best villain of Bollywood. A ruthless businessman, having profit in life as his first priority, and not caring about anything else or anyone else above than his 'dhanda', Saif Ali Khan is menacing as Shakun Kothari. This role was tailor made for Saif and with the coviction, he plays it, was spectacular.
4. Irrfan Khan
There is no second thought on the performance, if Irrfan Khan is there. He is such an actor, who even if plays the same role in 10 different movies, you will find some variation in his role. His numbness and innocence from outside makes you empathetic for him, but at the same time, his wicked mind and scheming persona will shock you in Blackmail.
3. Akshay Kumar
Akshay Kumar was at his best as Laxmi. This was something which was unseen from this powerhouse performer. Not that it was his best performance, because this man outperforms himself in every successive movie, but still Laxmi remains as Akshay Kumar's one of the best performance of all time. He, at scenes, makes you believe that he is some diferent person altogether and such performances come very rarely.
2. Ranveer Singh
Such are the performances, which, if not done properly, can turn out to be the worst performances. But Ranveer Singh decided to play a different game here. He was in the character of Khilji so much, that it was even difficult for him to get out of it. Leaving aside his personal problems, Allaudin Khilji can be easily reffered as one of the best performance to come out of Bollywood. Ranveer Singh throughout the movie, makes you hate him and this is the testimony to the fact that how good the actor is in his role. From his beasty appearance to his evil acting, everything goes in his favour, making Khilji a highlight performance.
1. Ranbir Kapoor
What Ranbir Kapoor did was completely unseen and impossible for every actor. Forget physically, he has adapted Sanjay Dutt's body language so perfectly that if seen from a distance, you will see Sanjay Dutt himself. I have seen many biopics in which the actor acts like the personality. But in Sanju, Ranbir Kapoor doesn't act like Sanjay Dutt, but he is Sanjay Dutt. Definitely Ranbir Kapoor's career best performance after Rockstar and finally, the best performance of 2018.
